Skinz

The system known as Skinz comprises three separate products which, when used together, not only deaden door panels but also diffuse and attenuate reflected sound waves as well as protecting cones and baskets from water ingress.

Moisture guard for speakers

Acoustically transparent open-cell synthetic foam. Prevents water damage to speakers.

Car door speakers are prone to water ingress due to the harsh environment found in there application. A number of problems may occur over a period of time, which will affect the speaker's ability to reproduce music accurately. Speaker terminal corrosion can result in loss of audio signal or worse, electrical shorts causing damage to car radios or amplifiers. Speaker cones and surrounds can absorb excess moisture causing a break down in the speakers mechanical longevity and musical performance.

Skinz Moisture guard with its acoustically transparent open cell foam structure forms a moisture proof barrier to prevent water ingress and help extend the mechanical and electrical life of any speaker system.

Skinz wave diffuser is an ultra dense foam damping material used extensively to control acoustics in the recording studio industry. Now specially treated to reject moisture its benefits can now be achieved in car door applications.

Skinz Wave Diffusers sinusoidal profile helps elimate rear sound waves from reflecting back through the speaker cone causing sound cancellation. By attenuating unwanted sound waves from behind the speaker, greater sound and energy is gained. Thank to its excellent elasticity, flexibility and damping properties, Skinz Wave Diffuser will help deliver a far more open dynamic midrange with a much tighter mid/bass performance from any speaker system.
